101 Dalmatians

About the Tour
The tour is organized as a visit to the old Dalmatian village.
You will meet the locals where they live, they will share their ancestors’ stories and their region’s history.
There is so much to be discovered about this area: its traditions, customs, and the stories that explain their heritage, upbringing and culture.
Here you will get acquainted first-hand with a traditional Dalmatian family, their stone houses, traditional tools, and utensils; you will learn how households were once run, how the land was cultivated and how this is preserved today. You will experience traditional Dalmatia deep at its heart. You will be invited to sing along, dance along, and have a merry time.
These activities are an ode to the typical local Dalmatian games that connect, relax and nurture togetherness – a concept of having fun that is very far away from the modern days’ idea of spending leisure time.
Have fun and become a Dalmatian yourself, even just for one day!
The origins of Dalmatian Zagora
To fully understand the idea behind this tour, it is necessary to highlight the origins of this story that we transferred into a teambuilding program. The customs, dishes, games, and songs originate mostly from the hinterland region of Dalmatia – known as Zagora. This hinterland area is located behind the hills of the Dalmatian coastline and captures some of the most fascinating Dalmatian identity stories, customs, and genuine traits of this unique Mediterranean character.
Zagora is actually among Croatia’s best-kept secret regions that has been neglected for decades. The touristically overstimulated coast captures the world’s attention, while slow, local and authentic life lives on in attractive villages and little towns of Zagora very often less than an hour’s drive away. For the locals that life on the coast, it is often an escape window for a weekend getaway, a visit of relatives or farming their grandfather’s land. Many people have left Zagora for a better and easier life in the past, but the new trends that promote quality of life are taking some people back to this charming area.
That is what we decided to show you Zagora as a manifestation of real Dalmatian life with its tradition embedded nicely in the celebration of good food, rich ethnology, and cultural legacy.
Connections and Relationships in a friendly environment
In the past, life has been hard here, but the scarce fertile land and historic turbulences have made Dalmatians into hard-working people that farmed their land, built the stone walls, and took care of their stock. Besides the times of work and battle for a better life, the locals also knew how to rest, relax with friends and family and enjoy meals together.
They developed their own way of singing, celebrated life as it was, and had fun in many original ways with games and pass time habits.
The authentic home meant having a simple, but the delicious meal on the table, a glass or two of their own wine, with a fire in the fireplace, a good song in mind, and some good company. Our program recreates this motivating and relaxing atmosphere for your team, where the connections spark and friendly spirit fosters relationships.
